Terms of Service

1. The service and the operator

Grasp ("Grasp", "the service", "we", "us") is a marketplace for robotics training datasets, operated by SansaGroup AB, a Swedish company, through its Sansavision subdivision ("SansaGroup AB", "Sansavision"). Sellers list datasets they own or are authorized to license; users obtain rights under one of three license tiers or, for datasets marked free, at no charge. SansaGroup AB does not create, own, or warrant third-party datasets and acts solely as the marketplace operator and, for its public catalog, as curator of openly licensed research data.

By creating an account or using the service you accept these terms in full. If you use the service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you are authorized to bind it.

2. Accounts and eligibility

You must provide accurate registration information and maintain the security of your credentials. We may require identity verification for sellers and, at our discretion, for any account. You are solely responsible for all activity under your account, and we may suspend or terminate accounts at any time for breach of these terms or for any reason that protects the service, its users, or SansaGroup AB.

3. Purchases, free datasets, and licenses

Paid grants are one-time, perpetual license grants — not subscriptions and not transfers of ownership. The applicable rights are determined by the license tier (Research, Non-Exclusive Commercial, or Exclusive) as described in the License Policy. Each grant generates a license key recording an immutable snapshot of the terms in effect at grant; that snapshot governs your use.

Datasets marked free are provided at no charge as direct downloads. SansaGroup AB does not grant its own license tiers over free public-catalog datasets; the original upstream license published by the source project governs your use of the underlying data, and you are solely responsible for reviewing and complying with it before any use, including commercial use. Free datasets are provided "as is" and "as available" with all faults, and to the maximum extent permitted by law, without any warranty of any kind.

Payment is processed by Stripe. We never receive or store your card number. All prices are in USD and exclude applicable taxes, which you are responsible for. Except where mandatory law requires otherwise, all payments are final.

4. Seller obligations and indemnity

By listing a dataset you represent and warrant that you own all necessary rights, that the data was collected lawfully with all required consents, and that it contains no material you are not authorized to distribute. You must accurately describe provenance, collection method, personal data content, and third-party components. You indemnify and hold harmless SansaGroup AB, its subsidiaries, officers, and employees from all claims, damages, and costs arising from your datasets, your listings, or your breach of these terms.

Violations result in delisting, withheld payouts where lawful, and account termination. SansaGroup AB retains a platform fee on each sale, tracked in an append-only payout ledger; payout timing and method may change with reasonable notice.

5. Exclusive licenses and delisting

When a buyer obtains an Exclusive license, the dataset is delisted in the same transaction as the grant and no further licenses are sold thereafter. Licenses granted before the exclusive purchase remain valid under their original terms. SansaGroup AB’s obligation in respect of exclusivity is limited to not granting further licenses; we are not liable for independently leaked or previously distributed copies.

6. Prohibited conduct

You may not: redistribute or resell raw dataset files beyond your license tier; attempt to re-identify individuals in datasets; scrape the marketplace to build a competing index; upload malicious content; interfere with previews, samples, or telemetry; circumvent license keys or download controls; or use the service where prohibited by export controls or sanctions. We may investigate violations with all technical and legal means available, including audit logs.

7. Moderation and takedowns

We may review, delist, modify, or remove any listing, account, or content at our sole discretion, without liability, where these terms, applicable law, or the rights of others are implicated, including under our DMCA Policy. We are under no obligation to host, continue hosting, or restore any content.

8. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The service and all datasets are provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law, SansaGroup AB disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular model, task, training outcome, or jurisdiction, accuracy, and non-infringement of third-party datasets. We do not warrant that datasets will produce any particular model performance or research result.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SansaGroup AB’s aggregate liability arising out of or related to these terms is limited to the amounts you paid to us in the twelve months preceding the claim; for free datasets and free accounts, to the minimum amount permitted by law. We are never liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, lost profits, lost data, or model retraining costs, even if advised of the possibility.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under mandatory Swedish or EU law.

9. Changes, termination, and governing law

We may update these terms; material changes are announced on the service with reasonable notice. Existing license keys are governed by their recorded snapshot and are unaffected. You may close your account at any time; licenses already granted survive termination.

These terms are governed by the laws of Sweden, excluding its conflict-of-law rules. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Gothenburg District Court (Göteborgs tingsrätt), without prejudice to mandatory consumer jurisdiction under EU law. Where the service is used commercially, the parties waive any right to participate in a class action.
